Traffic news: North Bridge and Burdock Way in Halifax town centre now both open after man suffers serious injuries this morning

Burdock Approach and North Bridge had been each closed after a person fell from one of many bridges simply after 5.30am.

North Bridge was open from round 11am and Burdock Approach was opened quickly afterwards.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police stated this morning: “Police are coping with an incident in Halifax after a person fell from a bridge earlier this morning.

„Officers had been referred to as to a report of concern for security on North Bridge shortly after 5.30am.

„Areas round North Bridge within the city are at present closed as enquiries happen to ascertain what occurred.

„A person has been taken to hospital with severe accidents.”

The street closures triggered site visitors jams round Halifax, with studies of site visitors on this morning’s rush-hour backed as much as Northowram.

First West Yorkshire was terminating its 681 bus service at Northowram as there have been delays of 90 minutes.

Its companies are actually resuming their full routes.
