heavy congestion on A34 north and south of Newbury due to rolled over caravan and 4 car collision

Two separate incidents on the A34 at East Ilsley and Tothill are inflicting site visitors distress for motorists.

On the A34 northbound between the M4 and the junction with the A4185 there are delays of as much as 40 minutes, attributable to a caravan rolling over.

The southbound A34 between the A343 and the A303 is at present experiencing queues of as much as 20 minutes due to a 4 automotive collision south of Tothill Providers.

We have now been informed that site visitors round Penwood and going in the direction of Burghclere may be very gradual as motorists keep away from queues on A34.
