Fuel spillage on A1(M) shuts road as lorry overturns

An overturned lorry this morning has triggered a gasoline spillage on the A1(M) and sparked prolonged closures.

Site visitors has been affected on the A1(M) northbound close to Junction 4 of the A414 Nice North Street for Hertford and Welwyn Garden City.

Slip roads have been closed sparking main congestion.

The incident is known to have occurred on the roundabout in between the slip roads and subsequently visitors is unable to exit at Junction 4 and be part of at Junction 4.

At 4pm Nationwide Highways tweeted that the overturned trailer has now been righted however „resurfacing works are required because of the harm sustained to the highway floor from the diesel spill“.

The roundabout, and northbound entry and exit slips have been set to remain closed till at the least 10pm they stated.

Motorists are urged to keep away from the realm and to hunt an alternate route the place attainable.
